The earthly mining company UnobTech Inc., led by Parker Selfridge arrives in orbit of the moon Pandora, in a quest for the precious mineral, unobtanium. After her defeat in 2154, the company is now accompanied by the US Interstellar Marine Corps. After waking up from their frozen state, the Marines are briefed.
On Pandora, Jake Sully and Neytiri have their own family and Jake is now the leader of the Omaticaya. During his leadership he has been teaching the Na'vi about human technology, allowing them to be much more prepared for the expected return of their enemy.
